  • What was your most unforgettable road trip like? Where did you go?

My most unforgettable road trip was my freshman year of high school, my marching band took a trip to Disney World. It was about a 12 hour drive on a bus. I remember having to pee really bad most of the trip. I made the mistake of loading up on Coke Zero before and I had trouble holding it until the bus had to stop ever 200 miles or so to change drivers. I tried using the bathroom on the bus, but as you probably know, sometimes things don't work out. I also remember a terrible case of insomnia. Some people were jacked up on Starbucks, Red Bull, and gummy worms so they were screaming, depsite everyone's constant threats that if they don't shut the hell up, someone would go back there and beat them up. I also remembered we played Would You Rather and 20 Q. On the way back, we had went to this large dinner show before we left, and the grilled chicken did not sit well in my stomach. Try  all of that, and nausea. Not fun. But through all this commotion, I really made some memories on this trip.

  • Pro-Life: the radical idea that babies are people too

    Hi everyone,
Well I decided I'd write an entry tonight. I'm really getting myself wrapped up in this FOCA thing. I was never a big pro-life person. I was against this, but I was never one to speak out. Due to Washington and my opposition to FOCA, I decided to do something about it. Thanks to those who read my first entry.

You know, this thing really has two sides. There is a legal side and a moral side. No matter if they make a law making abortions illegal, people will still be having them anyways. There is absoultely no way a law could completely stop this. What needs to be changed is the way people see this. I know some people look at an abortion as a medical procedure: it's like going in surgery and removing some unwanted fluid in the stomach. They treat these poor infants like a disease which they need to take care of to get well. Pregancy is not a sickness. It's giving life. Think about it, if women didn't give birth, nobody would be here. You, me, and everyone else on the planet would cease to exist. I think we need to put more respect on sex, to start off. If people would wait till marriage, or at the very least wait till they are in a committed relationship with stability and resources, we would get rid of the unwanted pregnancy problem. I can understand about rape, abuse, incest, and those sorts of thing, but I mean we can make arrangements for that. There is no set rule that says if you get pregnant, you have to raise the baby as your own. There are millions of famlies who can't have children who would be very blessed to take your baby into their famlies. There are other arrangements that can be made. I can understand it being difficult to raise a baby if you are a single mom, the daddy left, you have no job, no money, and you're living on the streets, or if you are a fourteen, fifteen year old girl who was raped. You're just starting high school, and you're barely grown up yourself. You say any broken-home story, and it will be understandable as to why you can't raise a child. These are the people who adoption is meant for. What I am upset with are the people who want to sleep around with different partners, and are too selfish to let their poor innocent child take their first breath, so their life is not "inconvienced" for nine months. These people ought to be ashamed of themselves. Getting pregnant is a beautiful gift of love. You and your spouse create an extension of you in a child to love and raise. What if that child would grow up and cure cancer? What if he/she grew up to be a great missionary and save lives? What if they became president? What if they were meant to change the world? And you walked into the clinic and stopped their tiny heart from beating, and ended their chances of growing up and being something great.

So, please do your part in this. Join with me and others and help stop FOCA. The day of action is Wedensday. Spread the word, and hopefully we can fight this.

For those of you Christians out there, I wrote a FOCA prayer. You are free to pray it.

    Heavenly Father,

I come here in Your presence because I believe all life is sacred. We are all part of your creation, from the smallest plant to a newborn child. Please help us fight the wrath of FOCA. Grant President Obama and all of our legislature wisdom and guidance to make the right choice. Give them the strength to stand up for Your greatest gift of all, the gift of life. I also pray for all of the mothers who are contemplating aborting their child. Please send Your graces upon them so that they may let their baby into this world. Grant their families a loving and faith filled life. I pray for those children who have been terminated. Please open your arms so that they may return to eternal life with their Father in heaven. We ask this through Your Holy Name, and through the passion and death of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, His Blessed Mother, and all the angels and saints. You are Lord for all of eternity

    In Your name we pray,

    Amen.

    Cheers,
    KT

  • What the FOCA?

    Hello blog readers,

Well, I found out about this bill in Congress at the moment, called the Freedom of Choice Act, or FOCA, for short. I feel very strongly about this issue, and this blog is my way of speaking out. FOCA will pretty much erase all of the restrictions on abortions. This is what will happen:

    • Nullify requirements that abortionists be licensed physicians
    • Eliminate health and safety regulations for abortion clinics.
    • Nullify parental consent and notification laws.
    • Invalidate laws to inform patients.
    • Repeal the Hyde Amendment: Taxpayers will pay for abortions.
    • Remove waiting periods.
    • Prohibit bans on abortion after viability.
    • Remove protections for physicians and hospitals that refuse to participate in abortions.
    • Repeal the Partial Birth Abortion Ban.

Now, one by one, I will tell you everything that is wrong with this bill.

First of, I would NEVER have an abortion, but I would not go to one that is not a licensed physician. All the person would pretty much know how to do is take the baby out. What if something went wrong during the surgery? I'd like to know my doctor knows how to take care of me. This goes along with number two, to eliminate health and saftey regulaitons. Do you have any idea how many infections you could catch? Plus, you could also get seriously hurt if the tools are not safe. The biggest issue I have is number three, where parents have no right to tell their daughter they can't have an abortion. What this law pretty much says is that you can have sex as much as you want, becuase you can take the bus down to the clinic and get it taken care of without any consequences from your parents. So many teens are sexually active, and the numbers would grow tremendously with this. The spread of STDs would also grow because teens will be sleeping around and not using protection. What kind of message is this sending out? Next, if you go into a doctor's office, you should have a right to be informed. It's your body, and you should be able to know what's going on. Let's say you were highly allergic to latex, and you went in for an abortion. The doctor puts you out, and without your knowledge uses latex gloves. You have a deadly allergic reaction. Whereas, if he would tell you about the process, you could find an alternitive, or better yet not have one at all. Taxpayers paying for abortions is not acceptable. The reason people abort their babies, most of the time, is simply out of greed. They want to sleep around, but don't want to have the consequences of carrying a child. So they just throw them away like they are disposable or something. Abortion is debatable in an instance of rape, or a medical reason. But, I think every measure should be taken to save the child. Nobody says you have to keep it, there are millions of families out there who can't have children and would be blessed to let your baby into their home. Taxpayers should not pay for people to sleep around and take the easy way out. there are SEVERAL different areas desperately in need of government funding: the enviroment, education, heathcare, and to fix the economy to name a few. We should not waste money on the easy way out. Also, this bill would make it ok for partial birth abortions. Let's say you have a dog. A beautiful female golden retreiver named Lucky who was having puppies. And for some reason, you couldn't keep the dogs. Would you take Lucky to the vet to have the defenseless puppies  ripped out of her stomach, their skulls cut open and crushed? No, I would think you would sell the dogs, or give them away. Why would you do the same thing to a poor, defenseless infant, when there are other options? Partial birth abortions are just wrong. There is no justifications to that. The babies are humans too, like it or not. Also, with this bill, all hopsitals will be forced to perform abortions or lose federal funding. Even church-run hopsitals will be forced to. No matter what religion you are, or if you aren't one at all, I think it's very wrong for these good people of God to be forced against their will to perform in a deed they don't believe in. It's terrible. These organizations will be punished for standing up for their own beliefs, that life is precious. This pretty much violates everything America stands for right here. We have a right to religious belief in this country, and part of many denomination's beliefs is being pro-life. These people are being forced to perform abortions, or lose government funding.

So, if you are pro-life, pro-choice, or just confused, please join in the cause to stop FOCA. We should all have a right to be taken care of, and this ban will outlaw all the rules for these practices. Spread the word, get involved with a protest, or talk to your local representive. Remember, What the FOCA?

    Thanks,

    KT

  • If I were a princess

    Hello there blog readers,

Well today I decided to write on this topic "If I were a princess". First of, I really wouldn't want to be a princess. I'm all for America. But if I somehow fell madly in love with a prince and he felt the same way, I wouldn't deny it. It would be cool to be a royal. First of, I would not be one of those greedy princesses. I would have some nice stuff, but I wouldn't be all about having Chanel suits, designer purses, fancy shoes, and everything. Royals very often get sent clothes, makeup, and accessories by designers to wear so they can get their designs out. I would probably do that often. That way I help them out by bringing in buissness, while having really stylish clothes. Secondly, I would not use my powers for evil or greed. I would love to make a difference. I took inspiration from Princess Diana here. I would use my princess power to get children reading. I would go to schools, orphanages, hopsitals, what have you, and read stories to them. I would also donate books to libraries, and start a few of my own.  I would also like to help with cancer research. If I was a princess, I would hold a ball and you would pay to get in and all of the money would go to cancer research. Also, I would invite young women fighting the disease to come as honored guests. I would make sure they have a gorgeous dress, and they would be treated like royalty. I would also like to be an art patron. I would pay for certian young musicians, painters, writers, actors to pursue their dreams. But, I wouldn't just leave my work to this. I would go to work wherever my people need me. I really would like to be a good princess and be loved by everyone.

    Cheers,

    KT

  • Reflections on Washington

    Hello Patriots,

I just got back today from a week long trip to Washington D.C. Without a doubt this was a very exciting week to go with the Innaguration. This blog will be my reflections on the experience. I really have become a better American, and fell more in love with my country.

One of the things I really grew to appreciate was the work of the leaders of the past, especially the presidents. Each one seemed to contribute something different that makes America the wonderful country it is today. Each man who served in office deserves respect, even those who did some things that the nation wasn't proud of. It's not easy to be the president of the United States. Where I was watching the swearing in ceremony, when Bush came on, everyone started to boo him. They even booed H.W. Bush, which I thought was pushing it. Hell, you don't have to like Bush, but he's not the president anymore. Personally, I think if there wouldn't have been all the problems during his terms, he wouldn't have been so bad.  I loved reading about stories of American history when I was a little girl. I still do. It wasn't until this week that I realized the impact people like Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln had on this country. They pretty much dedicated their lives for the good of the American people, drastically changing our history in the process. Those guys made their mark on the world. Think about it: Lincoln freed the slaves. MLK worked for civil rights, and now we have our first African American president. The ancestor of a slave who made it to the highest position in the country, more or less the world. That's pretty much the American dream. A lowly forigner comes to our shores, works hard, and reaches the top. Where else in the world does that happen?

Another thing I came to realize was an appreciation and deep, utter respect for our soldiers. On a trip to Arlington, our teacher told us this story: During the Vietnam war, 4 bodies of American soldiers were picked up from a battlefield. A low-rank soldier was given a wreath and was asked to put it at one of the bodies. When the cadet walked in, he saw a ray of sunshine on one of them representing the glorified American dead. This soldier was buried in the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I felt that was very moving. It amazed me how a normal person: I bet whoever is buried in the tomb was an all-american boy. You know, football player, has the pretty wife, a family, lives a good life. He was just like you and me. But, he made the brave and heroic choice to serve his country. By the great sacrifice of his life, he now lives forever in the glory. He is remembered with love for his bravery, and all of America salutes him. I know we can't do this to everyone, but I think EACH and EVERY soldier deserves that sort of respect. They put their greatest possession, their lives, for the protection of our freedom. They really and truly are the reason we are the great country we are today. Despite the war, economy, and other issues, you have to agree that America is one of the best countries on the face of the earth. We do not give verterans enough respect they deserve.  I don't know how, but I really would like to give back to them in some way. I also realized that I want to die nobally. I don't want to be selfish and die in my bed with everyone I love around me when I'm 100 yrs. old.  That way, really, the only person I lived for was myself.  I'd like to give my life for a cause: wheather it be for Christ, for my country, or for the pursuit of literature and the arts. I want people to gain something great from my death.

So yeah. More later. I can't think of anything else to write.

    God Bless America,

    KT
